Dear Educators,
With the spirit of adventure, WF2K will not only touch down in five continents, 30 countries, and 36 cities, but will fly into thousands of classrooms, and capture millions of minds over the span of its 26,000 mile journey. By traveling to classrooms around the world, pilots Dan Dominguez and Chris Wall will be able to facilitate international connections between students and teachers that would otherwise be impossible. Interactive chats that will span oceans can help to bridge gaps in understanding and appreciation of different peoples and cultures. Students will be able to talk with the pilots to ask questions about the flight, or make suggestions as to what they should do next in their adventure. Curriculum will include history, geography, cultural studies, aviation, literature, current events, and earth sciences; as well as interactions with the actual peoples and environments that are unique to this project.
WF2K is an entirely student-run project. From our initial dream to the letter that you are reading now, WF2K is students connecting students to make education everything we ever dreamed it could be. WF2K is a groundbreaking and innovative project that affects students all over the globe- the only thing holding us back is the limited the resources, time, and contacts that we have as college students. YOU can help us link this project to educators and students.
Please take a quick look at our materials and consider if your organization wants to contribute or be involved with this project. Whether it is endorsing the flight, putting a link on your website, distributing our information to your members, or merely joining the list-serve to be kept updated on our progress, we want YOU to be part of the WF2K crew. Feel free to use the resources we have provided by following the links at the top of this page. If you have any questions or would like to speak with the staff for more information, contact us by phone or email. Thank you for your time.
